Description
-
Allow the child to name the fruit or vegetable
-
Sort them into ones that they like and ones they’ll try (giving a sense of control)
-
Using the stones to plan fruits or vegetables that they might try before introducing the actual food. Could even be used to put out the stones before making fruit rockets or similar
-
Use in pretend play to ’feed’ the characters – choose the character that looks the most like them, print, cut around then cut out the mouth, then attach to a plastic cup – have them feed the character using ones that they like or even ones they aren’t sure about as a pre-cursor to introducing them
-
simple matching – match the stones to the cards (you could print the same cards as the stones you have made or the opposite for a challenge)
-
sorting – fruits and vegetables
-
identifying – team up with the character cups and get them to feed the character the stone once they have identified what’s on it

Instructions for making the stones are included! You will need flat stones – I get mine from Bunnings or Grolife Products, mod podge and spray sealer.
