Are you ready to read about my favourite hacks for the classroom and playroom? I am all about creating spaces in the playroom (and in the classroom) that are about simple and easily affordable for everyone. While we know that you can get amazing resources from the big names, there are plenty that you can find from Kmart and Target.
Be warned, once you start it can be hard to stop!
Kmart says Noir Coffee Table…
BUT I say it’s a play table!
Perfect for adding fake grass, blocks, kinetic sand and so much more! Because of the height for the younger kids it means that they can easily stand beside and for the older kids it’s the perfect kneeling height.
Target says Wooden Abacus…
BUT I say it’s a vertical threading activity!
Not only great for hand/eye coordination but can be used to sort colours, counting and patterning.
Kmart says Storage Tray for Threading Animals…
BUT I say it’s a sensory writing tray!
Reduce the excess mess when adding coloured sand or rice, and then the kids can draw the shape, letter or number into the tray with no spillages! Winning!
Kmart says Lazy Susan…
BUT I say it’s a geobard!
This is honestly one of my absolute favourites and is such an easy hack to create yourself. Once you add the nails and the bands, the kids can create shapes and copy the image that they see. Ps: Just remove the bottom!
Kmart says Divided Plate…
BUT I say tray for maths activities!
Allow the ease of sorting to happen where your kids can sort and compare to build and extend on their mathematical skills and development.
Have you found or used any items that you could use in your classroom or playroom lately?
