Before we dive in how to make oobleck/goop, let me know in the comments what you call it. Because to me, it always will be known as goop. Anyway! Here’s how to make oobleck (goop)!
You’ll need:
- Cornflour
- Warm-ish water
- Food dye (but not too much or you’ll stain hands!)
- A tray to mix it up in
- A bucket of water for washing off once you’re done
Add 2 cups of cornflour to 1 cup of warm-ish water. Mix it around and see where you’re at. It’s easier to add more water than try and add more cornflour (trust me).
The texture should be liquid-like, but if you pick some up you could roll it into a ball if you work fast enough and if you stop it’ll goop down.
You can add figurines to the tray and watch them get stuck. Or just let the kids explore it!
